Helping Babies Survive (HBS) is a suite of hands-on, simulation-based educational programs developed by the AAP to reduce neonatal mortality in limited-resource environments by building the capacity of health providers to deliver high quality newborn care. HBS is comprised of the following programs: Helping Babies Breathe (HBB), Essential Care for Every Baby (ECEB) and Essential Care for Small Babies (ECSB). The HBS community – comprised of hundreds of thousands of trainers, implementing partners, global health organizations and health care providers around the world – is our greatest resource. Visit our website for more information about HBS and to learn how you can get involved. You can also send an email to hbs@aap.org. HBS courses are offered several times a year in various locations throughout North America. Announcements for course dates and locations can be found by visiting the HBS Upcoming Courses page.
