How are NRP materials developed?

Revised NRP materials result from the work of the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR), a multinational group that provides a coordinated forum for researching, reporting and developing international resuscitation guidelines supported by scientific data.

Every 5 years, ILCOR coordinates the research, debates the science, and determines new international resuscitation treatment recommendations.Based on this process, each resuscitation council develops resuscitation guidelines for its own region of the world, based on the scientific principles.

The US Treatment guidelines, the basis for the NRP educational materials, were freely published October 18, 2010 in Resuscitation, Pediatrics, and Circulation.
